Recognition. Believed to be the most powerful of all motivational
strategies, recognition can range from a simple thank you letter from the company’s president for a special achievement to a large, formalized program in which peers vote for their peers to elect "the most customer service oriented employee" in their respective departments.
Such is the program Partners & Levit developed for a major New York City thrift institution. Each year, 100 winners of the peer-to-peer election are invited to a gala breakfast hosted by the
bank’s chairman. There, winners are treated to a morning off, an appearance in a music video created for the occasion, breakfast at a fine hotel, words of praise, a special visit with senior executives, a framable certificate and a gold tone lapel pin which winners wear proudly throughout the year.
The gala has become an annual tradition. To learn move about salesperson and employee motivation initiatives, [Click here]. |
